I will not stand for any more Frodo slander. People seem to forget that Frodo carried the Ring like 90% of the entire journey while it slowly draining his life away. Most people either succumb or nearly succumb to the Ring’s corruption in a short span of time. And Sam was no exception. Don’t get me wrong I love Sam but saying he carried Frodo through the whole thing is like saying the one dude who was in charge of presenting the school project did all of the work.

oh I was not referring to the LOTR story, I was referring to Sean Astin carrying Wood through the filming of the movies. Man was basically his butler

Frodo only got carried through like 70% of it of course :)

It is a big commitment. I did not dilly-dally and am a veteran gamer. It took me 90 hours to finish a moderate play through. It’s worth it but it did start to drag at the end. And that’s just one ending.

It took me about 130, but there’s only 70 hours on my main file. The rest was redos, deaths, etc. What about you?

I got roughly 100 hours in. I only played a few battles over, opened most of the maps, but didn’t complete all the side quests. I got frustrated by the length at the end and simply

          spoiler

sacrificed Gale instead of actually fighting the brain

          No regrets whatsoever.

I’m half way through my 3rd run. What I really appreciate, is you can hit F5 anywhere to drop a save. So if something comes up, like the kids need your attention, no worries.

Even if you can only find an hour every few weeks, you can still progress.

Now if it’s you don’t have time because there are other things you absolutely need to focus on then I get you.

I started today, I have 2 weeks of vacation to dive into this game.

I have no knowledge about d&d style games but I’m excited to play this One.

A game selling as well as BG3 is currently the best sale you are ever going to get for a long time is the 10% off on the steam winter sale and I’d be surprised to see it go any lower for years at the least.

Then years it is. Wish I’d waited. The game’s not going anywhere, so why does it matter how long someone has to wait for a steeper sale?

While I respect the strategy, if it will not harm your financial situation the game really is worth full price.

Considering the absolute shit state of gaming in 2023, BG3 was an absolute miracle and I am definitely voting with my wallet there.

But if not, the BG3 community will still be there and we’ll see you next time :)

These are the kinds of comments that made me and my partner give in to extreme FOMO and buy full price. We regretted it, and so I think it’s nice to supply an alternative opinion to those who may be suffering that same FOMO.

              Wait for a steeper sale.

You can find BG3 for a little less than $55USD right now. I strongly feel that the effort, labor, care, and love that clearly went into it from the entire team is well worth that given just how remarkable the game actually is. Secondly, considering just how much of a middle finger the game is to the standard AAA battle pass/dlc nickel-and-diming that is common in the industry, I’m very happy to support Larian.

We should be enthusiastically supporting good game making, I think.

That being said, $55 is not nothing for what amounts to a luxury purchase and I completely understand not being in the position to nonchalantly drop that much on those kinds of purchases.
