    1.6 mil workers worldwide.

    1.1 mil in the US

1000 workers id guess wouldn’t even be missed if they never came back from the Amazon crying booth

It’s a confirmed 1150 people at a single facility. Definitely a significant number for that facility and surrounding area.

Presumably black Friday is a “all hands on deck” day, so a tiny group might make a difference.

Whether it takes 1.2 or 1.202 day to ship an order, does not matter to anyone.

I wish it would make an impact and hope it will but i seriously doubt that it will have consequences for anyone else besides the 1000 who strike.

I strongly believe that unions are important but they need move power than this. More workers need to sign up, and pay membership for the Union to be able to support a full scale strike even with compassion strikes across different branches and services

That’s total number of employees for the company at large, including dozens of subsidiaries, their various product teams, AWS (which is reportedly in the ballpark of 130k), Prime Video, marketing, and all other departments.

Do you have a breakdown of how many of those are actually factory workers?

This. I’d bet if you knew some of the inner workings of Amazon, you could hand select a few dozen employees or positions to go on strike and bring their service to a screeching halt. And the types of people that generally strike, are more likely to be in one of those positions.

This is actually a great opportunity for everyone to apply to be a seasonal worker at Amazon. Then don’t show up and support the protests.

I work at an AWS data center as a DCO L3. Fully support this strike.

Support them by not buying anything from Amazon on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or any day if you can help it.

In a vacuum it might be awesome. But add in the horrible work environment, and it starts to be less appealing. Slavery-lite should not be accepted.

I worked at Amazon. Maybe certain facilities are possibly like this but it’s complete horseshit from lazy ass employees from what I’ve witnessed.

No, it’s the employees that are lazy."

I’m saying I worked in it and witnessed everything first hand. Most people that talk shit about it only know what they’ve read in articles and run with it. Like everything else in the world.

I worked on the transportation team in their early stages. It was fast paced for sure. It has to be though. It was great learning the ins and outs of trucking and getting my CDL all while being able to be a nerd and code/develop while having downtime in the guard shack.

I have not had same day delivery for months now in a populated city with several Amazon fulfillment centers and Prime. I’m getting ripped off and the moment Invincible ends I’m gone

How many are employed by Amazon? 1000 doesn’t feel like s significant number.

I’m not crossing any picket on Black Friday virtual or not. Hell I did all my Steam shopping on Thanksgiving.
