It’s been an abysmal season, but I’m still shocked Heath has finally got the axe. He seemed held in pretty high regard by the owner/upper management and only last season signed a new 3 year deal.
Interesting that they pulled the trigger on this with still a couple of games remaining in the season. This is quite a statement to fans that the club recognize results have been poor and it isn’t acceptable.
Tactically we’ve been bad all year and some of our starting line-ups have frankly been baffling. Heath always seemed intent to get our full-backs involved in the attack but the truth is both Taylor and Bristow have been poor defensively and yet we’ve persisted playing a tactic that obviously doesn’t even suit the personnel we have. It’s not like we were lighting things up on attack either.
I’m genuinely excited for the future of the club now. Heath deserves credit for helping to build MNUFC, but I definitely feel its the right time for the club to take that next step forward.
