Long-time player, but not a terribly good one.
This run looks promising, so I thought I’d try to glean some wisdom from the crowd.
Right now I’m playing a Level 15 Warden on the 12th floor. Strength 15, but I have a Rotberry seed for that Blandfruit.
I have Armor of Viscosity and a Chilling Weapon, and the pic shows the rest of my upgradable inventory.
I have 3 Scrolls of Upgrade.
What should I use them on?
Or should I continue to hold on to them?
Huntress + sharpshooting ring = very strong. remember you can enchant the bow to make it even better, its usually worth an upgrade scroll esp. at the start of your run
Just so you know how good it is, each lvl of you sharpshooting ring applies +1 to your bow, and also all projectile weapons. i would dump everything on that sharpshooting ring, enchant the bow, and only spend upgrades somewhere else if i found plate armour.
Id the hammer, the ring, and the WoRegrowth. If either wand is good (>+2) merge them with the troll blacksmith.
Otherwise, dump on sharpshooting.
FWIW, my biggest dilemma is when to upgrade existing armor/weapons, and when to jump to higher-tier equipment…
The blacksmith can merge wands?! I thought they only worked on armor & weapons
Anything you can upgrade can be merged: wands, rings, weapons, and armor
Ring of Tenacity +1
The wands & warhammer are all completely normal
On the blacksmith level, I found a kinetic sword, a +1 plate armor, and another Scroll of Upgrade (making 4)
I also found the alchemy room, so am now level 17 with 17 strength.
Your suggestions (for the scrolls & the blacksmith)?
At 17 strength you are able to wear the +1 plate which is good armor now. I’d dump a couple of +1’s on the armor just to be on the tanky side.
Use your magic markers to try for a good enchantment. If you find another plate, ask the troll to merge them.
This allows you to buy time and wait till you find a good tier-5 weapon, preferably pre-enchanted.
Your ring of sharpshooting is also an asset. You could upgrade that one, but the Warden isn’t really a Sharpshooter.
It could work, but I’d be less than enthusiastic doing that.
