That’s a really nice statement. Excited to see what Kiss does next. I won’t pretend I was her biggest fan or anything, but I enjoyed her when she popped up and it’s always a little sad when an original leaves, even if we knew that day would come.
Really sorry to see Sonny go, but she was severely under-utilized by AEW anyway. Here’s to greener pastures.
I’m anxious to see where she goes next. Out of all the national companies, AEW and Impact are the only ones I trust to treat Sonny right.

Hopefully this gives The Concrete Rose a chance to blossom elsewhere. AEW didn’t do much for her other than get the name out there. Not that there’s no value in that, mind you. But Sonny, like a lot of others that have come and gone, could have been used better.
In 4 years, the only memorable moments with Sonny I can recall are:
- The gas station fight segment to promote the team up with Joey Janela. But I can’t remember a single match they had as a tag team.
- Janela turned on her and they feuded on Dark. Janela would state shortly after his departure from AEW that the wrong wrestler won the feud, as it was intended to get Sonny over. He was just fusstrated.
- Sonny gets squashed by Kenny Omega.
- Sonny joins the Trustbusters and turns heel.
- ???
- Sonny is released by AEW.
Great write-up. And I agree with Janella that Sonny should’ve won that feud.
I wouldn’t mind seeing her in Impact but tbh I think she needs to work on her promo skills. She could be a diamond one day…but she stills needs a lot of polish.
It just bums me out because I was a fan right from the jump, and it seems like she got very little opportunity to grow.
