Say, if the Sounders have a lead on a new DP and need to open up a spot, but Raul finishes the season poorly and there aren’t bidders to take on the full contract. Maybe they let him go for less than his full salary, buy out the rest?

Hopefully it’s all moot and he comes back on a tear, scores buckets of goals and propels us through the playoffs.
