    When you give money with expectation of something in return, it’s not a donation. Isn’t it time we started calling it what it is?

    Just in general, why is the transition funded by private donors at all? No matter who takes the office, it’s a necessary part of running the government, and should be handled by public money. Having private money do it is always an opening for corruption.

      Because people who openly and legally accept bribes to get into office make the laws, so they’re going to make laws that benefit the people who are bribing them.

      That’s how it’s supposed to work, but it’s predicated on the incoming administration doing certain things, like signing ethics documents. Trump’s team is refusing to do this.
