“Any acts of genocide Israel chooses to do with the weapons and aid the US gives to them has nothing to do with -and does not reflect the official policy of- the US”
Edit: midwest.social seems to be having syncing issues with hexbear
Yep, the Lemmy.world mods even permabanned my Lemmy.ml account from Political Memes for “misinformation” that didn’t agree with their liberal narrative
The mods refused to answer how I could edit my comments to comply with their rules. The same mod also went on this zinger of a rant:
They’re having a “normal one”
pretending like Israel isn’t a colonial project of the US seems to be the latest lib move and it is deeply unserious. anyone who even implies that Israel and the US aren’t completely interdependent–at so many levels of imperialist domestic and international repression–should be shit on from such a great height, they will think God himself has chosen to crap on them, specifically.
I take it as a sign that the relationship and it’s poisonous outcomes are so clearly indefensible at this moment and wreaking havok on the democrats’ typical smoke and mirror bid to keep the presidency, that libs must deny the existence of the relationship and gaslight everyone who brings it up to try and keep the subject dislocated from the focus of attention.
what’s really wild is how they expect to keep this up for another 3 weeks while the genocide rages and threatens to expand in all directions, prosecutes by an actor that has no incentive to take their foot off the gas to appear any cooler heads in the US.
No politics in US foreign policy? What the fuck is the Drej Queen reading?
A favorite complaint i see in comms like MoG is that the war in Gaza is “off topic”.
It’s clear that since there’s no defending the democratic position toward Israel, they will simply ban direct discussions of it.
The master stroke of Euro-American liberalism was creating a distance and an opacity between policy realities and the powers behind those policies, so that not only could there be plausible deniability, but there was always a local scapegoat that could be found- hence demonstrating the need for more foreign “involvement”.
