Al the Screech Owl has recovered and is ready for release!
Intake from July 24
Tonight we answered a call to help a little red phase screech owl that was rescued from the middle of the road here in Tullahoma. Had these kind folks not gone into the road to get it to safety he would not be with us. On first assessment thought we had a female but weight confirmed this is a male screech and the couple that found him have named him Al. As you can tell Al has a bad headache. He was clipped by a car and does have some missing feathers on the top of his head. He is also missing some of his ear tufts and is quite water logged. It does not appear that he has any broken bones. We will treat his headache and give him a safe warm place with the all you can eat mice buffet and hope he can get to feeling better soon. Bless his little heart.

Al kicks ass! Go awesome Tennessee owl people!
He’s looking all macho now, considering his look on arrival! 😅
These guys do good work!
