    Are those human step-sized steps part of the original structure, or were they installed later for easier contemporary access and tourism?

      Not sure - if I had to guess I’d say installed or reconstructed later. It looks like it’s somewhat contemporary - definitely the railings are, at the very least.

        They were terrace farms with modern steps, there probably weren’t stairs but rather ladders as is common in Peru with the benefit that if you pull up the ladders ascending the terraces is not as easy as it would seem given the fact they could hurl rocks on you from either side.
