Evgenii Dadonov is sticking around in Dallas.The Stars signed the veteran forward to a two-year extension with an average annual value of $2.25 million, the team announced Tuesday. Dadonov was a pending unrestricted free agent. The Stars acquired him from the Montreal Canadiens prior to the trade deadline in exchange for forward Denis Gurianov.The 34-year-old scored three goals and tallied 12 assists in 23 regular season contests with the Stars before adding 10 points in 16 playoff games during Dallas' run to the Western Conference Final."Re-signing Evgenii was high on our priority list," Stars general manager Jim Nill said. "He was a key player for us down the stretch, and he elevated his game on the big stage during the playoffs. We're happy to get a deal done that works for both sides."Dadonov amassed 33 points in 73 games in 2022-23, split between the Canadiens and Stars. He owns 298 points in 486 career NHL games.The Stars have around $5.14 million in projected cap space after extending Dadonov, according to CapFriendly. Ty Dellandrea is in need of a new contract as a restricted free agent, while Max Domi highlights Dallas' remaining group of unrestricted free agents.
