I don’t really see the problem as long as they’re still working because they enjoy doing it, rather than being forced to do it to survive.
Yeah I plan on either working part time doing something I like or volunteering doing something I like. My dad retired twenty years ago and sits around the house. He’s not happy but it’s hard to motivate him
I mean maybe she is not wrong. Falling into the hole of a lifestyle that is not challenging you can quickly deteriorate your energy. But that doesn’t have to be work. Having active hobbies and not staying inside, on the sofa all day, should do the trick too. But hey. I am not at that age yet. Maybe I am totally wrong.
All I read: Person who defines themselves through work and who has no healthy personal life at all, says they’ll keep working. If you degrade yourself down to a corporate dog for all of your life, then yes if you stop working, then you stop to exist and wither away. You see the same phenomenon of long term prisoners released, they have no sense of life and need their routine and harsh leadership.
