When I open the app, it tells me that “there are no posts”, and at the top of the screen, it is set to “Subscribed”. So every time I have to manually change it to “Subscribed @ Lemmy.world”, to get it to show any posts. (My default settings are New/Subscribed.) I was currently using v0.9.11, and just updated to v0.9.12, hoping that this would fix the issue, but it did not. Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong?

I was looking for some nsfw stuff and found one with 800 odd subscribers but it was saying “there are no posts”, just like you. Seems the same for all nsfw groups I found.

I have no issue seeing posts in subscribed or all.

I noticed this as well and haven’t been able to find an answer yet 😅 Always the “there are no posts” and none of them show in the main feed either.

Yes this is due to the way default accounts work. However Lemmy has changed a lot since the reddit exodus and the way things used to work might not make sense any more and we want to change this functionality.

We have an issue open for discussion the direction. We really want to strive for open communication in the direction of the app.

If anyone has thoughts on how the “everything” and default accounts should work please provide them!

It’s the same way for me. I think it’s working as intended (for now) but I would really like to be able to set a default timeline or something.

You have to ckick on the grey button and choose local or subscribed timelines on your instance.

But unfortunately there is no option to choose subscriptions from your instance, or i couldn’t find it.

Yeah, I have to click on that gray button and choose Subscribed@lemmy.world every time. I was just hoping there was some option that maybe I just wasn’t seeing. So I’m assuming, when you first open the app, the screen is always blank just like mine is then.

Could try change your user default to be something other than ‘subscribed’? See how that interacts Or remove the option for the everything mode and that might default it to lemmyworld subscribe?

I prefer not changing my user default setting from “subscribed”, because that’s how I want it to show. The setting “Show EVERYTHING Feed” is off, but I even turned it on and tried it that way, but it didn’t change anything. I’ll probably just go back to Jerboa for now.
