Datsyuk and Marceau should be locks. Maybe they’ll finally nominate Rod Brind’Amour this year. 🤞

I mean, his biggest claim to fame is that he played a long time. Besides that, he’s a 0.6P/PG player with no individual hardware or accomplishments.

I wouldn’t say it would ba a snub as much as he just hasn’t done much besides play a long time.

Datsyuk is the only lock I see.

    • 2x Stanley Cup champion
    • 4x Lady Byng
    • 3x Selke

On top of being one of the most dynamic and creative forwards the league has ever seen.

Patty might get in just because of his longevity and being the face of Sharks for like 20 years.

Rinne and Miller and miller have hardware, but its tough to argue that one Vezina win is a lock for the Hall.

Shea Weber had the unfortunate luck of being a great defenseman in the same era that Lidstrom played, arguably robbing him of at least one Norris. But he does have World Junior, IIHF, World Cup, and Olympic gold medals, so thats a plus. If he had a Norris I could see him being a lock.

Agree with your here, though I think Marleau is just shy of being a lock. Breaking a long standing record, even without being the best player at his position, and a lack of hardware, I think should still get him in.
