Activity seems great to me for how confusing some say the fediverse is and avoid it.
I feel like the people who are pirating (beyond online streaming sites) are a little more technically inclined anyways so the fediverse shouldn’t be too much of an issue to navigate.

Something like that, yes. I’ve subbed to all sorts of remote instances from lemm.ee and had no issue, but any of the comms from lemmy.dbzer0.com are stuck on pending.
Edit: now that I check again there are a few others, from instances where I’ve had no issue before. No telling what the cause of the issue is then.
Edit2: wahey, cancelling and then rejoining works!
I’m on Jerboa and mine always sticks on pending whilst in the community but when i go back to my main feed it’s subscibed.
