We’re living in a time line where each leader, when faced with the choice of leading or dictating, they dictate with their ego. Leaders feel a responsibility to those in their charge. Dictators only want to be in charge.
The Musks and Huffmans of the world are pissing up the wall onto the thing that their business is based upon. Good work, dummies.
Always has been.
Here’s the problem.
It isn’t his data. Never has been. It’s ours.
Apollo and the other apps? They’re giving ** the ability to provide him content that shows up in searches that bring people to reddit. Fuck spez
Now, if you want to see how much of a hypocrite he is, remember that he’s planning on locking nsfw subs and content to the official app. So he’s literally profiteering off of other people’s bodies. And, hes relying on the onlyfans “data” to bolster that. Let’s be real, he’s wanting to be cyberpimp
He’s stripping mods already to get subs open again
@CannaVet this late? I wonder what took so long.
Bold strategy. Let me raise a giant middle finger to the unpaid mods and contributors that have built your site. If they weren’t having issues making money, I can’t wait to see what happens now.
Twitter have already seen ad revenue plummet because of the shit show that is taking place since the takeover. Bad actors will attempt to take over as mods and the level of moderation will turn to shit. We’ll end up with a Twitter clone taken over by alt-right assholes, Crypto scammers and spam.
Reddit will bleed and bleed money.
Funny - anyway, he doesn’t care about my feedback. That’s interesting, as I gave him no feedback - I just found some other places to go.
The incoherent babbling is fascinating.
::grabs popcorn::i thought we were a community?
Investors came knocking looking for some of their dough back and he took Eloon Moscovian’s advice :)
File under CaptainObvious. Why do people act so surprised about this stuff? Reddit is no different than any corporation. It’s a huge busines and huge businesses do not care about their employees or customers. They say they do for PR purposes, but the reality is that they only care about money.
In Reddits case they are gearing up for their IPO so they are also putting a spin on the situation to give the share holders more confidence. In the end though only they know the real numbers. Bottom line is that people need to stop acting like these companies owe them something or care about them. This isn’t a mom and pop donut shop down the street.
It’s a business that almost completely depends on the users and moderators. Pissing them of is just a bad decision from business perspective alone.
It’s one of those things that shouldn’t ever happen, because who wants the consequences? But seem to happen every single time.
