People don’t understand there’s another possibility, that the US will try to invade a poor third world country to calm things down at home.

Keep the war machine rolling, military complex well fed, divert from own failures, move the spotlight, release some patriotic propaganda for the numbnuts. But above all, keep on war profiteering, then apologize later without consequence.
