Especially love the part about not wearing Reddit gear in public, like someone’s going to beat them up, lol.

According to how he justified this whole fiasco, they aren’t profitable so… Okay, enjoy still not being profitable? 👍🏼

Given how much he has already lied I don’t believe him one bit. Taking an adversarial approach against your own community should tell them everything they need to know about how things will progress from here.

Taking an adversarial approach against your own community

This is why even if things go back to “normal” I’m much more interested in seeing where this fediverse thing is going (which is something I wasn’t even aware existed a few days ago, so thanks reddit, I guess?)

saying “were a community” at the same time as youre saying shut the fuck up and accept what were dictating is a good way to lose a few people from your site.

He already publicly admitted that Reddit isn’t profitable. I’m sure that inspired tons of confidence in investors.

Be careful that was the narrative that asshole was pushing like people were going to hurt reddit employees lol.

That was one of his first internal comms was “stop wearing reddit gear in public”
