I was a little excited when I saw the first trailer last year, but after seeing the new movie last year I’m pretty excited for this new foray into Pandora

Lol, just rewatched the trailer…you’re right it does look like far cry now that you mention it, but I did like Far Cry Primal with the jungle setting, I bet I’ll enjoy this

With the caveat that I haven’t seen the trailer yet, I heard this is a first person game and initial feeling was slightly disappointed because I do prefer third person plus I want to see my Avatar dammit. But a chance to play in Pandora? Will definitely keep an eye on it.

Yes it is a first person shooter. I think 3rd person would be better as well, kind of similar to horizon games, because I would asume a avatar would use besides the bow and guns as well a melee weapon. And yes, want to see the avatar as well. This game is maybe like far cry on pandora

I don’t know. Graphically Ubisoft always delivers. It does look gorgeous.

But man, the gameplay, the ui even the story (at least what was presented in the trailer) all feel so uninspired.

I guess I wasn’t really that interested in the franchise itself, but the game does not look as outstanding, as the first movie did, back when it came out.

Kind of mixed feelings. There were parts of the trailer I really liked and it reminded me a lot of Horizon Forbidden West… And then I realised Ubisoft was involved and it’s obviously based on Far Cry.

I want to like it but I’ll see how the reviews go.

I’m all for the idea of Far Cry: Avatar, but I feel like I’m missing something in the gameplay trailer based on how positive the comments I’ve seen are. I thought the visuals were terrible! Particularly anything involving fire. Every time I saw an explosion, it looked like something I’d expect in a game from 10 years ago. The rest of the visuals were fine, but nothing special. Particularly compared to what was shown for AC: Mirage and the Star Wars game.

I’m not usually such a stickler for the visual quality of a game (although it’s always nice) because it’s far from the most important aspect. However, the visual effects in the films are phenomenal and their most defining characteristic, so it’s a bit disappointing when the game looks so basic. The story trailer also stood out to me as being very clunky and poorly edited, but I’ll give them the benefit of doubt due to the amount of exposition they had to convey.

Never found Avatar that interesting so not really interested in the game either unless it does something revolutionary.

“So it’s Far Cry?” said someone on discord call, immediately deflating whatever little enthusiasm I had, because I didn’t play the last few Far Cry either.

Avacry will probably be worth a month on ubi+ or when its 50% off eventually. I have a guilty soft spot for Farcry games to be fair…
