I have such a schoolboy crush on her. She’d be my Trump. “Oh, you shot some people in Manhattan? You poor thing, that must have been a lot! Who needs a long hug?”
I hope this is satire.
No, not at all. People really feel that way about Trump
I’m not sure how that’s relevant.
She’d be my Trump.
Stevie wonder could see how that’s relevant.
I guess Trump supporters aren’t the only ones to worship politicians as celebrities.
I think that’s gross, personally.

Not at all. I would 100% literally aid and abet a felonious Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should she commit a mass shooting and run to me for emotional and, especially, physical comfort. That’s a standing offer, Congresswoman.
“Physical comfort” eh ? This post is gross as all hell.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a warning to President Joe Biden following reports he may use new executive action amid an uptick in migrant arrivals at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Republicans have blamed his policies for the increase, though experts note external political and economic factors play a substantial role in driving migration.
Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive Democrat representing New York’s 14th Congressional District, slammed the idea in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Wednesday night.
Ocasio-Cortez said that Biden should “refuse to sign” this executive order, describing its “mere suggestion” as “outrageous.”
In December, the president faced backlash from some progressives over his negotiations with Republicans to reach a deal on immigration and border security that has since been blocked by conservatives.
"The base of the Democratic Party—young people, folks of color, immigrants—that was the coalition that allowed Joe Biden to get elected…

I don’t really know what the solution is but messaging needs to be better. I talk to so many people who worry about these issues and a lot of them are on the left. There needs to be a clear plan for how to ensure any problems are mitigated and idealism isn’t a solution
There were more than 2.4 million encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2023 fiscal year, up from roughly 1.7 million in 2021, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data.
That’s a shitload, above and beyond “normal”, of real humans and families we have to deal with. They are not political footballs. Pretending there is no issue because the GOP is campaigning on it is ignorant and borderline evil. Real people are hurting, both inside and outside the US.

I don’t have answers, but I see the problem. And if anyone wants to present a simple answer to me, I’ll call you simple.
That’s less immigration than during Bush Jr.'s term, simply with better enforcement. The country didn’t fall apart then, it’s not falling apart now. And since you post this link and argument every time the border comes up, I’ll just cut and past the link that shows this isn’t a record level of immigration. It should be familiar, as you’ve seen it before.
The annual total — which includes people who were stopped at the border more than once — jumped by 37% from 1.7 million the year before.
That isn’t to suggest 2022 saw the largest number of people trying to enter the U.S. illegally. For instance, the Department of Homeland Security estimates that there were nearly 4 million unauthorized border crossings in 2000 but only 1.6 million were counted. Over the years, immigration authorities have been able to track more migrants as a result of improved security technology.

And yet the Republicans claim he’s not doing anything
These discussions also can’t ignore any time a Democrat is in the White House, Republicans declare the border is open and then refuse to do anything about it because it would violate their primary directive of obstructing Democratic presidents.
There was a bipartisan bill in the senate they worked on for months, it included funding for Ukraine etc because Republicans said it had to be tied to border security
Right before going for any votes, the trumplicans said they would vote no on it because it had funding for Ukraine etc
Republicans don’t want to fix the problem, because then they can’t complain about it

Wait, what is wrong with simple answers? Aren’t simple answers good?
