Say hi and introduce yourselves!
I made a custom CSS style for Lemmy, baka gusto n’yo lang ibahin yung itsura sa inyo. I personally found the site hard to use, coming from Reddit, so I did this.
Steps
- Install the Stylus extension/addon on your browser. (Chrome, Firefox)
- Install the custom CSS from UserStyles.world.
Here’s what lemmy.world looks like 'pag naka-install na siya. Enjoy!
full stack developer kayo??
Yes currently, pero leaning towards front end ako :D
Welcome, everybody! No doubt this part of the fediverse will see gradual growth, but just the same I’m pleased to see old and new names here. I can’t wait to be more active in interacting with you all =)
Not as vibrant pa sa /r/ph but we all have to start somewhere. 😅
Gusto ko lumipat sa lemmy.world na instance (because I signed up for lemmy.ml not knowing the ideological tilt they have) but the perpetual loading is just off-putting. I have successfully signed up for lemm.ee though and it’s run by an Estonian so I guess it’ll be safer. The community over there at lemmy.world seems to be peaceful (I visualize it as New Zealand countryside) while kami dito sa lemmy.ml is parang New York or Manila kasi ito gateway sa Lemmy apparently 😭
Sa lemmygrad.ml ako pangalawa nag-signup in my desperation to get something started.
I’ve been tinkering with my lemm.ee account and slowly transitioning from this account to there, but now I cannot access this community from there 😭. Looks like there haven’t been any lemmy.world subscriber from lemm.ee.
And I have already filed my registration for lemmy.world. Yet to have approval for my account though
I created my account sa latte.isnot.coffee and wala namang mga ganyang tanong, although its 2nd biggest community is China (1st one is Coffee)
Kaya ko pinili yun lemmy.ml, kasi yun mismo developer ng Lemmy nagpapatakbo neto. It’s less likely to go down.
But I’m here so it’s cool i guess.
Hello!
Tatlo yung nakita kong community dito:
- !pilipinas@lemmy.ml — Oldest post listed is from May 10, 2022.
- !pilipinas@lemmygrad.ml — From their sidebar: “… an explicitly pro-Joma Sison and pro-CPP-NPA-NDF community. ” Oldest post listed is from January 12, 2023.
- !philippines@lemmy.world — This current community. Oldest post listed is from June 9, 2023.
According to the mod list for /r/Philippines, /u/decadentrebel is one of the mods, and if the mod for this community is the same user behind /u/decadentrebel in Reddit, then this one might be it. But even so, I can’t say for certain if they’re acting on their own personal initiative, or otherwise.
EDIT 2: Just took a peek at this thread from the reddit site, and yeah, this is the community for lemmy. There are others linked in the thread for other reddit alternatives.
There’s been discussions for a week now where to set up shop as the site blacks out, kaso medyo busy karamihan sa mods so there’s no back and forth where to exactly. So I took it upon myself to just figure out how Lemmy works, especially with “indefinite” talks percolating.
Ah, I’ve had an inkling that it’s that kind of a scenario. Thanks for the clarification.
In my opinion, creating communities (or forums, or whatever they’re called) in the different alternatives is a good short-term move—either until the mod team decides, or the people decide (by preferentially going to one alternative over the others).
Wherever it might be, I hope for the best for the /r/Philippines community.

I don’t know, but for their own sake, I sure hope any Filipinos, heck, any person in the lemmygrad and hexbear (more radical than lemmygrad) instances have excellent opsec practices.
Di na kailangang-i-redtag tho, so… I guess that’s a plus?
I actually made an r/PH version in Raddle despite an existing Filipino community being there already. Turns out, they’re (in the mod’s own words) “leftist/anarchist-centric” forum so he said that it’s better off that we remain separate. 😬
Ah, thanks for the clarification.
Yeah, that is quite a reasonable decision, and I guess a win-win for both communities, since Reddit refugees who are aligned to their views, guided from /r/PH to the /r/PH version in Raddle, could simply hop over and join them if they (the refugees) so desire.
Yup, ito official r/PH for Lemmy.
Madaming sumusulpot sa browser kasi may mga nauna na before for Philippines, some are even a few years old. However, all of them are under lemmy.ml which doesn’t accept new registrations anymore kaya dito na lang ako sa lemmy.world nagtayo. And hindi kasing blatant mga “red” stuff sa instance na to, haha.
Hi! I was waiting for the official r/ph here. I guess this is it :) I hope ok tayo dito. Balak ko kasi idelete yung reddit account ko.
Medyo nakakalito lang. Napapost ako sa wrong thread :)
This community is a lot more active than I expected. I should probably used the same username I had in reddit. Oh well. It’s a fresh start, I guess.
Hello! Sa wakas nakagawa na din ng account. thank you po for setting up this community
Hello! Si /u/megane-kun po ito.
Salamat po sa pag-set-up ng community dito.
Fuck you Spez.
Hello!
Henlo
Salamat sa pag-setup nito! Surprisingly easy to use ang lemmy at parang mas high-quality yung conversations so far.
Admins kasi in charge nun and not us so depende sa kung tulog sila or what, you can’t post asap just yet when you sign up. That, and the founder and the predominant “red” tinge. Yari tayo kina Sara, lol.
Pero other than that, this is the best among the Reddit alternatives from what I’ve tried/seen. Meron din siya mobile app, pero obviously not as good as Relay/Sync/Apollo.
Mejo concerning nga yung political leaning ng mga founders 😬 Pero so far naman maraming instance options to balance it out.
