I bet not a single legitimate PPG fan got to actually buy the sneakers. They were all gone within hours and reappear on the reseller market for >$250 each. Also fuck Nike for making such a limited edition sneakers. I refuse to play their game.

Thankfully there’s always the 1:1 bootleg replica market. It is actually nice that you don’t feel bad wearing your sneakers outside like a regular human being rather than keeping them in the closet.

    Literally every fucking time.

It’s almost as though these shoes exist to be sold on the secondary market as collectibles and not as actual footwear.

Yeah, every time I see some neat colab stuff I have to remind myself that it’ll be expensive and instantly sold out.

The one thing I let myself get actually excited about is stupid Uniqlo graphic tees.

I got to visit Japan and my wife insisted we spend hours in Uniqlo shopping, while we were at Shibuya Square.

I… don’t understand. But she was ecstatic.

It’s reasonably priced basics that are decent quality. That shouldn’t stand out, but we live in a fast fashion world lol.

Their brick and mortar stores are pretty uncommon in the US, so I’d probably be pretty hype to visit one even if it’s silly to be hype about that.

Uniqlo is good for basics. Maybe Japan had better inventory. I know a lot of western tourists are ecstatic visiting Japanese gas stations to buy microwave food and Kit Kats lol. So weird.

I’m not a sneaker head in any sense but the first public defacing I ever did was drawing Bubbles on the inside of a bathroom door with sharpies. Was real sad when they painted over it because I spent a lot of time on that drawing.

I imagine they rep makers in China will be on this very soon if not already, Dunks are very popular and easy to replicate. Funnily enough some of them have better quality control than legitimate Nike shoes lol

Damn, someone should tell Nike about this so they make more of the limited edition run shoes.

EDIT: This is kind of vague and sarcastic which I’ve noticed is not a tone with a good history in the environment of this site so I’ll clarify that Nike shoe company has a map of the chain of value going down to the poorest peripheral countries, Nike shoe company understands dependency theory better than some of you 🫵

It’s usually not 1:1 immediately. If it’s popular, it’ll become perfect within a few years like the Yeezys and shitty Travis Scott shoes lol. Otherwise there gonna be mid at best. But that’s fine since if someone tries to check your shoes, you can kick their teeth in
