  • With regards to supporting Israel, at first it was fine (since the last attack) but how they can continue to support a regime conducting genocide upon Gazans is beyond me. However, in many UN calls for the conflict to end, it was ever only the US that voted in favour of Israel. I don’t think they abandoned the rules, its just that a rules based worked order is only as reliable as those who enforce it

It does seem to me that a rules based world is not viable (for now) because none of the big players actually follow the rules. Ex: China for a while has not followed trade rules and subsiquently neither has the US (since they became scared of China’s rapid development). With trump 2.0, the world policeman is starting to look very fascist which is not a situation any EU leader could have fathomed a decade ago.

If anything, the EU has been trying to bolster the EU as an entity inorder to protect itself. It’s just not everyone in the EU agrees on that course and due to the unanimity requirements, things just can’t change. Since the end of WW2 Europe has been a vassel for the US and even until now that’s not markedly changes even if it’s gotten a little more difficult with the creation of the EU.

That being said, if the EU cannot finally get their shit together then I agree with your last point, they will be eaten alive by the US and China

  • As a European, I’m biased and say go for it! They being said, Europe has a lot of different climates and cultures to offer so kinda depends what your looking for.

In a perfect world (where you have the money and time to do so), I would suggest you backpack around for 3+ months and see which vibes you like the most. At the very least, I would suggest visiting somewhere in Europe first (even just one place) if you haven’t done so

  • I think your core message is completely true. But imho, probably this is what op is talking about with people yelling at their friend. Taking such a forceful stance will push those that are unsure away which is the exact opposite of what we need.

With that said, the fact that you just assumed their stance on politics from a generalised complaint of ‘my friend got yelled at’ is completely unfounded, unfair, and definitely will push away anyone who would consider themselves moderates. Baseless clames is literally how trump became elected and that’s not a good foundation for someone to get elected on

  • Tbh, I don’t think I agree. The only times I feel they can’t really be impartial “even if they say they are” is when they use a sponsors parts to build something. Or otherwise the whole video is sponsored but they kinda are reviewing the fevice. I don’t really like those videos but they are very clear about the fact that it is sponsored so viewers can at least down some salt whilst they watch the video. They also do state some issues they have with the products when they arise which is good (though obviously they may not say everything that’s wrong with it)
