I’m not fully up-to-date with bleeding edge display technologies but is there any reason that a passive DP to HDMI adapter couldn’t easily solve this issue? And would it cause Valve any strife to include one in the box?

Something that they have continued in earnest with the Switch 2.

Unfortunately, many large monitors are becoming “smart” now.

HDCP (the DRM HDMI uses) is interface-agnostic though? It works over DisplayPort, heck it even works over DVI. I think that makes your argument about DRM fall apart, though TV OEMs did indeed promote the adoption of HDMI.
I didn’t even twig that it was a song honestly, but that makes sense. Thanks for the reply! No harm, no foul.
My comment was entirely meant as a jest because you have a silly username, I’m sorry that it came across as mean.
I was mainly just confused why you called my Caroline, when an actually silly joke like Bloody Norah would have made a lot more sense. Been waiting for someone to use that 🤭
Yeah, alright buttnugget.
Yeah, I was taught BOMDAS here in Australia.

Did we not read the same comment? The advisor did have funding for that sort of thing and just plain didn’t offer. Maybe he wanted to have a big pizza party or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sounds more like you mean “women or women-lite”
I think this, as a statement, was meant to put me down. You also didn’t suggest an alternative until your second comment…
Have a good day though, and I hope you’re able to take this feedback to improve with communicating your needs in the future.

You’re already seeing multiple European governments moving to FOSS office suites.

I’d rather pay for search, than to be the product of a search engine. Self-hosting a decent index is much harder than it seems. Kagi aren’t ontologically evil in the same way as Google or Microsoft so I think it’s the best option.

Maybe we’re just operating on different definitions of “woman-aligned”. But also, I really don’t understand why you’re jumping down my throat about this rather than just having a productive dialogue. It’s put me on the defensive in a way that makes me uncomfortable, and like I shouldn’t try and make suggestions in good-faith.

CPUs don’t usually have their own integrated ROM, as far as I can tell the Core Ultra chips don’t. Are you talking about the integrated Neural Processing Unit that those chips have? That’s not hard-coded AI, it’s merely the cores with which to run it on. Which are also more efficient for other Machine Learning tasks that are actually beneficial. The issue there would still be what OS you choose to run on it.
But hey, at least kernel level anti cheating will finally arrive and CS2 will be playable again 🤣
¿Que? Are you suggesting that anti-cheat would be integrated into the microcode? That seems a little absurd. It also would no longer be kernel level but instead some form of hardware level.

Thank you! You did really well in that thread, I’m sorry this poster (not so) subtilely accused you of impropriety.

No, I mean that the rules are pretty clear about non-binary people being welcome if they believe a women’s community is a good fit for them. I interpreted that as “women-aligned” and I stand by that. It is a group for the discussion of things that affect or are related to those categories of people. So yes, naturally, if you don’t feel you are in those categories, you are being excluded. I don’t understand why that’s offensive to you, and as a trans femme non-binary person I resent the implication that I am labelling myself “woman-lite”.

“AI” already is built into chips? 🤔
Are you suggesting they’d have like, hard-coded AI or something?

If there was genuine interest, then she’ll initiate by giving you her details. That’s my philosophy anyway.
Bother 😒
