Second image here, because I couldn’t figure out how to do multiple if it’s possible on Kbin
Welcome back aboard! :)
Same. Except less casual.
So - it looks like it was all before Luffy met up with them after Enies Lobby. Koby’s style of dress hadn’t changed yet, and Helmeppo’s style was still bowl cut and no eye covers.
That said - that’s just when Koby started training with the Battleship Bag concept. We saw last chapter that it took years for Kuzan to catchup to Garp in the quality of hits he was doing - so Koby being able to have a really destructive hit a couple of years into that type of training is maybe a little surprising but ultimately is why Garp had so much faith in him as the future of the Marines.
Now it’s much more believable that Garp is dead - he’s laughing while freezing.
With that said - Kuzan hasn’t really ever actually killed someone in the series. Legitimately everyone he’s frozen on panel has lived - Saul, Luffy, Robin, Buggy, Blackbeard’s crew…
I’m looking forward to jumping back to Egghead and seeing how the crew handles the Siege, and gets our stone-turned members back in action.
At this point - all we control is how we respond to it.
If it’s awful, then dang, the naysayers were right.
If it’s decent - are we a community that lifts it up to give it a shot at a second season and more refinement? Or do we let our nitpicks become grievances that drags the opinion down?
If it’s good - then it probably doesn’t matter what we think as manga/anime fans - a good show with these characters and key events will find an audience.
The weirdest part to me is that it doesn’t feel like we’re getting any hints of Kuzan regretting this or even being uneasy about it. Garp was his mentor even if it wasn’t as direct as Garp’s relationship with Koby and Helmeppo.
Is Kuzan actually a baddie, now?
That’s still a conversion. It’s just one that doesn’t really come with any pomp or circumstance.
Yeah, there were a few headlines where I was like “Well… maybe? If I can’t actually read it I’ll assume false, though.”

I feel like the only thing that might be even remotely be a mark against you is if it really was as quick turn as your post makes it seem. Even if it was a deserved ultimatum - if you allow them the option to break the news themselves, I think an allowance of a day or two to form the right way to break it to them might have been better for her current standing with the kids.
But ultimately - no matter how much time you gave her to prep that speech, it likely wouldn’t have saved enough face for them to feel more cordial in the short term.
It’s not crazy at all. They want the social expectation of what “far left” is to get established at Biden as a baseline. So they’re going to tie that label as much as they can so that when actual progressives put out a platform they’re seen as completely insane and non-viable despite the rest of the developed world doing it for decades.
Prior to ESO, though, Elder Scrolls was a franchise entirely marketed at people who wanted single player RPG experiences.
Even if it’s still Elder Scrolls content- a good portion of that original market is not going to have interest in a multiplayer experience. Or a subscription experience. Or a”live narrative” experience with gated content windows.
It’s a very different experience at its core, so while there may be an overlap between the two markets in the Venn Diagram, it’s still a very different market segment than a pure single player outing.
I mean - they’ve had teams working on Fallout, ESO, and Starfield simultaneously. What work was probably going to be dedicated to ES6 probably got transitioned to ESO or Starfield. They’ve definitely had multiple teams focused on multiple things - ES6 just got deprioritized.
If this season survives to a season 2, I think the content creators that the showrunner interacts with would be more than willing to send him honest feedback to implement into season 2 scripting. Right after the trailer dropped he went on stream with Rogersbase, Jay D Legend, and Randy Troy. So - if the show survives and you want to provide feedback that has a chance to get to Matt - watch those guys.
That said - Luffy acts slightly different. That’s potentially worrisome. But until we see that more western humor directly undercutting key moments, I don’t know how worrisome it is. I think it stems
To be perfectly honest - I’ll likely stay here for content that typically ends up in large subs. Programming, World News, Politics, Ask _? That’s pretty well covered here.
But I’d use my third party app of choice to check in on subs that haven’t really taken off here yet. I haven’t had a decent conversation about One Piece yet on this platform. The Colts magazine equally dead. Game specific magazines and conversations are not very active here.
Quicker access to magazines I’m subscribed to is like my only actual gripe about desktop at this point. Still rough on mobile because there’s no access to greasemonkey or stylesheet override tools.
This makes me want to legally change my name to admin admin
It could - but Episode 36 of the anime is “The Worst Man in the Eastern Seas! Fishman Pirate Arlong!”, and chapter 96 is the “Meanest Man in the East!” referring to Luffy’s new Bounty post-Arlong Park.
I know it says these aren’t in order, but, I think they might actually be?
Looks like Gaimon and Loguetown are both on the cutting room floor? Perhaps Loguetown still happens as episode 1 if we get a season 2? Which would suck because it kills all tension in the “I’m dead!” scene.
