I agree and it also sucks that people aren’t allowed to host their own signal servers or make their own signal clients. Signal has been capitalismed now :(

IRC, xmpp, briar, QubesOS, TailsOS, CalyxOS, GrapheneOS, PureOS, librem5, pinephone, Umatrix/Ublock, pihole, dns-adblocking, encryption, pgp, gpg, socks5, TLS, https, FOSS, FOSH, self hosted: dns, proxy, VPN, VPS/cloud storage. You could also look at the free software foundation, teachlore, privacytools[.]io. Email providers such as protonmail, tutanota, riseup and a really in depth review of many email providers at https://digdeeper.neocities.org/ghost/email.html

I agree its frustrating seeing people use them with no way to get them to stop

A bonus if it is self hosted or free and open source cloud storage, which adds to the privacy

How Facebook and other social medias hold you hostage

Why are you on social media? because all your friends and family are there, simple. If you left you would feel as if you would lose connection to them, however this isn’t true. Social media is only there for the purpose of making money out of you through advertising and selling your data. …

The issue is only with the lead person and a few devs the actual OS isn’t bad just because they are. That said grapheneOS can be quite unuseable so I reccomend calyxOS over it

I would say it is unethical under any means, but depending on how they run it it can be more ethical or less ethical. eg. how much rent they charge and how lenient they are with people who can’t pay, what sort of community they have and how do they help the community.

It is difficult to have a community owned building under capitalism, try to get them to be more ethical about it and consider making it community owned, though once people own something for a certian amout of time they are less likely to want to share sadly; that is why people get more right wing/ conservative as they get older.

Essentially they are profiting off of exploiting people which isn’t ethically good.

I agree with samuraikid, it looks okay but is kinda shaky, with having injected third party sponsors into the search suggestions and also integrates with block chain wallets. Sure it focusses on privacy but not quite as well as fire fox and others. Get another non chromium browser is my advice.

I have considered this but I was looking for a comparison between android with calyx/graphene and a brick/flip phone

It looks okay but is quite expensive and like a closed off system(you can only get the apps they ship with it), otherwise I would be getting one because it looks great

What do you mean by purism?

Privacy phone options

Hi I am wondering if using a brick phone/flip phone vs an android with grapheneOS/calyxOS is better for specifically being tracked by companies? …

On the vegan thing I think that they would likely become more vegan if you were in a relationship unless they are a meat lover in which case as with the political tension you would probably lose the feelings you have for them

Love is love, if you both like eachother then your political leanings shouldn’t matter, however they will probably effect the relationship. In my experience if I liked someone and got to know them even in friendship, if they revealed that they were right wing I would be put of even if I liked them. I say go for it and if it works out then that’s great, but if there is any political tension then your feelings might just fade and that’s okay

I would like to add that this is added to chomium browsers too unless the maintainers of the browser stop it and also added to websites unless the websites opt out :(

I agree it is difficult to balance security and privacy with being ethical. Thanks capitalism /s

I don’t think that is possible some company cant just ask for taxes from people, I mean maybe if what they did was counted as a “community service” because they made jobs in the area then a % of the taxes that people already payed might go to them?

I think the legal action they take against corporations, the almost sale of .org and even challenging w3c is great, it’s good that they stand up for people and freedom and support them.

We need it because we share a common goal and we can only defeat capitalism if we are unified; one of capitalisms greatest weapons is division, let’s not let us fall to this too. we might have to sacrifice a few of the values of the beliefs we have but in the greater scheme of defeating capitalism t…

nice! hope your day is good

Yes wire is purely for messaging but you can make group chats, I chose it over signal because signal asks for your phone number :(

You said it perfectly , I feel like it has fallen victim to Facebook and how facebook commercialises its users therefore taking away any quality of content posted there

Instagram is one of the worst apps or websites for sharing users data with third parties, they store all of your data and I mean every little bit you upload on your account, I’m about to delete my account having successfully moved the people I need to communicare with to wire!..

What are anarchist's views on a meaning to life?

I am curious because the generally accepted meaning of life appears to be in helping others and transcending ones own needs which as I see it directly opposes anarchist values. Please correct me where I am wrong…
