File that one behind the what-if of a Gore Presidency. We keep missing the alternate timelines we should have taken. Here’s hoping we don’t screw up once again.

I agree that trapping a potentially violent person in, basically cornering them and escalating the situation, was a bad decision. I also agree with the court that it doesn’t fall into that category. It looks like lesser charges will still be pursued, probably more in line with negligence. It’s good that in response it’s now illegal to lock doors like that while customers are inside. I would have thought the general rule of keeping doors unlocked during business hours (as a fire code mostly) would have covered that already.

The little bit of stew Aragorn actually swallowed cut even his long lifespan by a few years.
Unpopular just means many won’t share it, you can still have your wrong opinions.
Keep in mind that being immunized protects you from developing worse conditions, not from getting it at all. Which also means you can absolutely be a carrier to others, you just won’t have it at a bad level for as long to be contagious. And the new strain is apparently more contagious (but possibly less of the rest) this time. Just wanted to add that in, because some people read the “immun” part and assume they can’t get anything. Avoiding infection is always the best way, with vaccination as protection if/when you do get it anyway.
I can understand that, and it’s one of the many drawbacks of party systems. It’s also exactly what Republicans have done for decades for anything in government.
Ina world where corporations only care about the next quarter, and politicians begin their term by starting the next campaign, how can we get long range plans completed? We’ve done many huge projects over many years in the past, but in today’s instant gratification that seems impossible. Anything worth doing is going to cost a lot up front, it’s called an investment in the future.
Issues don’t get fixed after election because voters go in thinking it’s a four year duty, not a continuous one. The uninformed voter name applies both during election time and between. Vote for the one that has the most potential to change (which means getting more progressive reps in Congress too) and then ride their ass their whole term if they aren’t making a difference you like, or if they do what you expect from them let them know they’re doing well. They are representatives by title, but they can’t represent who they don’t hear from.
So by many factors the above eliminates voting for Trump. This is a no-brainer vote, but the public has to put in some effort after they get people in office too. A big part of this problem is representation number in Congress, we ought to have a smaller rep/population ration than we do. But the other is a public that forgets to pay attention until it becomes a media headline.
The police always tell the public that they should call authorities if they aren’t sure about someone pulling you over or at the door. Until you do such things to be cautious, and suddenly you’re the bad person for not immediately obeying. Double standard.
Which still wouldn’t do what you suggest. The mass is the same, so it has the same effect from a distance. Unless by “eat earth” you meant it would take in dirt until it suck to the core, still about the same mass.
Nonsense. The event horizon on such things is incredibly small, as is the mass vs. that of Earth.
Maybe you had a different history of development then, unlike what I mentioned in the second part. Lots of our 19th-20th century urban areas had trolleys and such, which “mysterious” disappeared when the car came along. Even now in the past decades the public has overwhelming wanted development of things like high speed rail, and yet somehow even mandates voted for on ballots are refused for “reasons”.
At least one brand now has a newer design that rotates the microwaves themselves to better distribute the energy. It’s a bit pricier than the standard models.
If a stat is X per 100,000 citizens for 20 years ago and then X per 100,000 last year, last year would be greater overall if the population grew. Comparing two recent numbers the error becomes less important, I’m more talking about the headline looking back.
Fire temple I guess. Ruined one, for a mix of center and bottom right.
Both sides? Wait, that’s a third side. So we’ve gone polyhedral?
Shouldn’t population statistics like this have an adjustment for population growth, like inflation for economic figures? Still a decline. Also would mean that the non-violent numbers like theft have grown even more.
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil felt to me much more humor than horror. I get why it’s still in that class, but even early going in the viewer realizes that it’s all a big misunderstanding and stereotyping. And honestly, I rooted for Tucker and Dale from the beginning. Hmmm, I guess many horror fans do that for the monsters too.
Yes? Why shouldn’t it be? Lots of things should be covered for anyone, as they help the overall public health. $2 may not seem like a lot, but it is for some. And…if $2 isn’t a big deal, then why not have it covered since it won’t cost the taxpayer that much.
