I wouldn’t stop using an OS just because of internal affairs, wait to see what happens before you make such a big decision. I personally don’t use it for compatibility with third party peripheral reasons, but Manjaro (and any project that takes a lot of people) is more than their leader.

Honestly I’m not surprised. IMO this is a flaw of not using horizontal organization in a community effort. The corporate structure shouldn’t be applied to FOSS projects just for professionalism’s sake, and it leads to issues like this.

Great post! You finally convinced me to switch from YouTube to invidious. I used new pipe on my phone for a while but always used youtube.com for some reason

That whole channel is one of my favorites and I am a big fan of the guerilla gardening movement as a whole!

Do you have any out of the list you would recommend? I’ve heard the best Abt lineageOS but not much Abt other ones.

wish I could get that working on my machine but it really resisted every step of the way for me

been using manjaro as well. Loving it

clicked through to another thing and saw how they are implementing in in beijing, I think that is amazing technology and i really hope it catches on, especially if they can give it a wide variety of aesthetics.

when has capitalism ever worked?

And to answer your third point, Socialist projects that are currently exploding in growth and success include the zapatistas in rojava (worth a look into imo) who went from the poorest region in mexico to one with the best standard of living and completely erradicated poverty. also rojava in Syria, who are currently stabalizing and fighting off both the turkish and ISIS successfully while setting up robust public transit and electricity infrastructure that never existed in the region.

Cuba never intended to be fully socialist and I believe you are coming from a good place here but their decision to allow a definition of private industry was for hyperlocal mom and pop stuff that already existed, but occupied a grey area. They originally took out the goal of communism from their constitution and got so much backlash from the people that they ended up adding it back in and adjusting their economic plans accordingly.

It is easy to look at large projects like the soviet union, see that they aren’t around anymore, and assume that it is a failed project. I totally understand where you are coming from, but it requires more complex analysis than that. Socialist projects have succeeded before capitalism (horizontally structured indigenous communities, etc.) and will succeed after.

Used to go by protochoco taken from chocolatiergames (a game dev studio I made when I was a kid that sits at 0 releases and 1 billion unfinished projects) the proto comes from protomagicalgirl, a trans woman who does a lot of work with GDQ, dropped the choco and threw my first name in it
