Our community sub was taken over by a group of Neanderthals a few years ago. They have a weird agenda no one can figure out, and it’s dramatic as hell. Really good sub before they took over, I mean community related subs have always been a bit…spicy, but it was all in all not a bad place. Said mod team is no abiding by the blackout, because they see themselves and their little hive dictatorship as “too important” to participate. As long as they stay there, within their little echo chamber, maybe the rest of us normal people can build a new normalized community on the fediverse.

For sure, I run an 5800x3d and a 4070ti on a 850, but I had to replace the 650 that I built with in 2020 to do that. Two power supplies in three years could have been averted if I had just bought a bit more than I needed the first time. It sucks having to completely rewire an already built computer too.
When PSVR came out, we had a teeny tiny condo at the time, and I think it took me an hour before I had put my fist through the light in our living room.

I disagree. Going public hasn’t served any tech company, except the founders, well. The changes announced thus far, are only the icing on the cake for what’s to come. They pretty clearly don’t have good management, or good decision making capabilities either. I think Reddit’s on a rather fast descent to it’s nadir.
Buy more than you need, is the lesson I’ve learnt. Especially power, I have an 850 as well, but I sort of wish I bought a 1000W, the way things are going.
VR hasn’t caught on as much as I thought it would. Using VR/Augmented reality is a hard thing to do for a long period of time. I get really motion sick from my PSVR after about 20 minutes. I know the tech has come a long way since then, but there’s some pretty significant hurdles to overcome between here and mass adoption. That’s even ignoring the buy in factor, which is a non-starter north of say $1k (maybe $1,500 if it’s more like an actual standalone computer).
I hope all the skids and the power hungry mods with agendas stay on Reddit, while all the normal people migrate over here. Wishful thinking…

Yeah right, most mods are shitting their pants because their little power trip parade is about to be over. They’ll just try and migrate it on here and other platforms, but hopefully that’s put to an end somehow.
I’ve had a lot of issues trying to subscribe as well. Even searching in Jerboa has been a bit of an issue, I’ve had to go onto my computer and search for a community I know that exists and subscribe that way. It won’t otherwise even show up in the app.
All things I’m sure will get ironed out soon enough. I quite like this whole thing, if I’m being honest. Doesnt have angsty reddit bullshit yet either, but I’m sure that will soon follow when the problematic mods start showing up.
