Eternal Darkness: GC. Was a different game than I was used to playing… not necessarily a fave as I prefer the standards but was different (quite bleak) but worthy.

Re: Eugen is literally selling out Fediverse users to data collection agencies on a very quick squiz on the librenet site I saw a lot of busywork but didn’t see anything relating to this other than some $ received for maintaining accounts. Oh there was a thing about the subscribe form going to mailchimp. [?]. Somebody feel free to correct me.

It’s telling that their first-leading-point is about how a - *GitHub issue that I (Sierra) filed relating to the Mastodon iOS App regarding the lack of ability to see the local timeline *- was handled, rather than the allegedy/literally privacy crime posted above.

This feels on the level of a bunch of ME3 players getting butthurt over the ending, but as I don’t know anything about the parties involved I leave it at that.

That is how it has been to date e.g join the .art instance to hang out with art people etc but could be part of a push in a new direction

Great opening sequences in games

Anyone have any favourites? Doing a run-though of PS3 mass effect and started on ME2 and was reminded of how good the opening with the destruction of the Normandy Was - great start to the game…

Started a runthrough of the original recently - In my opinion it holds up well as a simple horror game that doesnt try to do too much, textures are a little blurry, but the sound and lighting’, ui, dismemberment mechanic are top notch.

Can’t speak for the n8 but I have a lot of love for the n9. It’s a stylish looking phone. Decent screen. The USB/sim slot approach isn’t the best. But the UI of the meego os is my favourite - the first thumb driven interface I used. Might still be using it but for battery life/slowdown/app support. It died a couple of months back rip. Check it out for the front facing camera that was never implemented and the what-could-have-beens.

Im a fan of the ULTIMATE: PLAY THE GAME box art from the mid 80s. Props to Underwurlde and Knight Lore esp.

NASA - The worm

Stone cold classic. The meatball… not so much…

Good to see they can react and make changes quickly with covid still doing the rounds -Happy to have the two austrian fixtures they provided a couple of good races …

Romain Grosjean scored his first pole and came second for the first time in years since starting in IndyCar. Must be a great feeling to be in contention after a few seasons in the hass…

Won’t be able to watch but keen to see if Checo and Bottas make more of a race of it. …

I don’t have a problem with the current weekend format but ok with seeing new approaches being trialled - any thoughts?..

“I haven’t seen George yet – he didn’t come [to see me]. I keep teasing him, I said if he does a good job he can be in a Mercedes, if not we’re doing the Renault Clio Cup and today we’re more close to the Renault Clio Cup.” …

Wet weather craziness… good the drivers are all ok. Red bull are looking good for points from here.

Its great to see two RBs in the top 3, with Bottas down the way - who always seems to struggle when being back in the pack. Checos tyre management + RBs speed in the pits is going put hamilton under pressure - in a refreshing way - if there are no on track incidents.

Apart from the race at the front will be interested to see if Mazepin can complete his first full lap - what tsunoda can do from the back of the grid and if Norris / Sainz / Bottas can make up for the issues in quali.

Definitely deserving of the seat - Looking forward to the race

I’m not sure I agree with success = massive engaging community. One metric of success is if users engage and stick around… @nutomic posted a relevant point in another thread

For corporate social media it is definitely a competition, but I dont think it makes sense to see the fediverse in the same way. We dont make more money from having more users, in fact having more users results in higher hosting cost and more moderation effort. Maybe there will be more donations, but thats far from certain. So I am totally happy even if Lemmy doesnt grow, as long as it provides an alternative space that some people find useful.

Everybody seems to be in a rush to see this thing grow huge, or to solve all of their desires (federate with mastodon!) That people see it this way though and that make about it means they have a passion for it.

My 2c

  • Donate funds to the devs to allow them to continue to develop or expand the project
  • Post content outside the core foss/privacy loop

After the season has started? Doesn’t look to be a problem for Mercedes that much given the fp1,2 performance this weekend…

Sabbath 80s / 90s discussion

If you’re ever in the mood to listen to two fanboys talk about black sabbath in the 80s/90s in an engaging way this vid might be for you. …

Good point actually - more in line with close encounters…

Haven’t watched these in ages they might not hold up. Solaris . I enjoyed soderbergs 2002 remake but the original Russian version from Tarkovsky 1972 is better I think (don’t expect anything involving action it is slow.) Also Contact - the 1997 movie from the Carl Sagan book. And not unknown, but Kubricks 2001 a space Odyssey from 68 obv. Not so hard sci-fi but Moon 2009.

Another build-it-to-get-bought-out bites the dust.

My 2c - Driver of the day - Sergio Perez. Red Bull look strong, good to see ferrari in the top 10, midfield scrap should be interesting.

If the season continues like that its going to be a cracker. …

First time recently Mercedes haven’t dominated the start of the season. Exciting to see Ferrari back in Q3 …

Interesting to see if this progresses…

Glad to be self-hosting the following: Nextcloud - handy for work (cloud) Pleroma for activitypub connections, Matrix/Jitsi for messaging chat (both cloud) Miniflux RSS and Navidrome for music, (both lan) could be better options but those do the trick for now.

In this case artboards are multiple documents/canvases inside a single doc. Use case might be laying up a business card on two artboards front/back within the file. In my case it allows me to iterate design or layouts in quick succession in one file. Historically illustrator was only allowed single files/artboards and indesign was used for multi-page. You URL looks to be an edge case the basic overview is probably better https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/illustrator/how-to/visual-dictionary-artboard.html

Teams ranked on testing performance. It’ll be great to see if Perez can put red bull in a better position and how Ferraris improved engine will fare…

Personally I’m loving the new Alpine look, but finding Williams/McLaren pretty uninspring. - same as last year. Not sure what the buzz is for Aston Martin’s Racing Green but then not the biggest f1 junkie…
