THEY CAME. THEY SHOPPED. THEY SAVED THE WORLD!
Two girls from the Valley wake up to find that a passing comet has eradicated their world and left behind a mysterious red-dust and a pack of cannibal mutants. With the help of a friendly truck driver, the girls save the earth from a villainous “think tank,” karate chop their way through flesh-eating zombies, and, of course, find time to go to the mall.
Daddy would have got us Uzi’s.
Classic flic!
On eof my favorite movies.
Hec-Tor aka Chakotay
This movie had way more influence on me than it should have. I was pretty young when I watched it, and it left me yearning for the apocalypse. I really only remember a few scenes by now. The scene that I remember most clearly I think is near the end of the movie, where a guy pulls up in a supercar, I think a Lambo. He had just taken it, since it was the end of the world and all. That left me thinking the end of the world would be a paradise, where I could have anything I wanted. Sure, you’d have to fight mutants, blasting them with uzis, but to a little kid, that’s all fun and games. I should watch it again, and see if it’s actually any good or not.
Loved this movie when it came out too, though I’m pretty sure the car was a BMW convertible or some such. Not as cool as an 80s Countach, but not too shabby…! The 4k release is on my list of must score discs.
Incredible poster.
Not exactly a Christmas movie, but it does take place around the holidays, if I remember correctly…
