The Lenovo ThinkPad T500 is powerful enough that most casual computer users will be satisfied when running it with Linux.

I like Lenovo, good Laptops for few money.

I use a Lenovo V145 15AST, AMD A9- 9425 Radeon R5 - 5 cores 3,1 GHz RAM 8Gb, GPU 1+2 Gb, SSD 256Gb , which cost me €350 a bit more than a year ago. Works very fine and fast. The only lack is, that the keys F1-F12 only work with the Fn key as second function, that is a little bit annoying. Good alround Lap, it can even handle most modern Videogame without problems. All other brands with similar specs ranged from € 500 and up.

Just FYI, my Lenovo has an option in the BIOS to swap out the function keys to make F1-F12 the first function.
