Other then the semi-recent case of software sabotage (but that was just another ransom ware attack) that shut down a major pipeline in the US for quite some time, I see the problem that any minor sabotage will be fixed quickly and anything else is likely to cause major environmental damage or equally problematic methane release into the atmosphere.

And as the author writes, trying to shut down stuff at the place of consumption is likely to back-fire politically…

Maybe I lack imagination, but I don’t see a good way to do this right now :-/

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.
