    It’s an amusing twist that it’s creative jobs that are becoming automated while everyone thought that automation would primarily affect manual labour.

    Turns out that it’s really difficult to get precise work done using machine learning, and that makes it unsuitable for any jobs where there is a defined outcome required. A robot doing the wrong thing can easily result in injury or death.

    On the other hand, tasks like writing or making art just have to produce results that look good. If an algorithm generates a typo on an article nobody is hurt. If a generated image has some artifact no harm is done. And these are the kinds of jobs that we’re now seeing being automated.
