So what? Everyone should have the right to decide for themselves whether they want to get vaccinated. Or is that a controversial opinion now?

But how do you even know that the event organizers checked her vaccination status? It seems equally likely that they just let her in without checking.

yes. We are in a global pandemic. You should get vaccinated if possible.

Edit: You have the right not to, but I think it would be morally wrong.

I am vaccinated, but I dont think anyone should be forced to. Luckily my country Spain is much more tolerant, I dont think anyone here checks the vaccionation status (except maybe airports). Anyway vaccination rate is at 90%, and covid is pretty much over here.

not every country enjoys solidarity and promotes rational thought. cultures are different all across the globe.

in a sane world, it should be a right to decide for yourself and the choice would be pretty clear, as most people would comply with a universally beneficial decision (as seen in some countries), and the fringe minorities would benefit from herd immunity (which is the point of vaccines, to protect those who, for medical reasons or otherwise, cannot receive them or are extra vulnerable). sadly we don’t live in such a world, in the middle of a pandemic, where medically unable or vulnerable people are dying in the numbers of thousands each day to something easily preventible because “it is my right to choose! the consequences to my decision are yours to suffer and not my own, so i don’t give a shit when i passively murder you with the virus!”

Disagree. Herd immunity is achieved at 60 or 70% vaccination rate, which most western countries have achieved by now. Even with 100% vaccination rate there would still be deaths, because vaccinated people can still get infected. Besides vaccination, it is also necessary to focus on other countermeasures, such as masks and an effective healthcare system (looking at you yankeestan).

Herd immunity isn’t achieved at 60 or 70% rate and we see this in most western countries. Many unvaccinated people are protected against the measles by herd immunity, but the situation is different for covid atm.

That’s an impressive vaccination rate! How did you get there? Germany is struggling because people are afraid of getting vaccinated and not afraid of covid.

Okay i was wrong, its 80%, compared to 70% in Germany, so not that different (source). I can only guess why. In my experience the healthcare system is definitely better than in Germany (i lived there so can definitely compare). Also the mentality of people is very different, that probably plays a role.

They use the facade of choice but in truth use pseudoscience to discredit the proven benefits of vaccination. They already have a choice to not be vaccinated. But when things go south and covid rate spikes they are against lockdowns too. Most of it just seems to find a polarized subsection of the society to grift from.
