    Which protocol is used? Can Mastodon use it too?

      It’s done with activitypub and any software using it, like Mastodon or Misskey, will work 🙂

      the root post is not searchable frrom masto, but some of the comments are. Also, lemmy comments are not seen from pleroma side. A test indirect comment from masto is not seen from lemmy.

    I think these comments would mention commenters of all parent comments, which could be annoying for Lemmy users.

      I don’t think it will look.like that in Lemmy. I think it is like this because that is how the original comment is referenced in pleroma

    how will this eventually work? will sublemmies be activitypub groups? i know there’s some conflicting group stuff, at least i’ve heard on mastodon

      Lemmy communities are activitypub groups, and they already federate without problems.
