We used to talk using NNTP and mailing list, but they are closed a few years ago. So we migrated to Lemmy. Our members are aging. Our eyesight is not good anymore. A lot of us are struggle with the captcha using by Lemmy.

There’s an audio captcha, just click the big play button.

How about people who have both eye sight and hearing problems like myself ?

e sight and hearing problems like myself ?

I suppose their hearing is bad too. And audio can be worse since I think some of them (me too) aren’t familiar with English listening.

It sounds like it’d be best if you hosted your own thai instance and disabled captchas.

Aging people can be non-Thai too. Captcha has many types. Maybe some types are suitable to them.

I’m sorry what CAPTCHA? If that’s a registration time CAPTCHA you could probably run your own lemmy server, disable registrations and let admins create accounts manually for users? (since you appear to have an existing community where you could request accounts)

Running my own server is dangerous while I still live in Thailand, otherwise censorship will be very strict.

That’s a very good point! If we can help in any way (beyond lemmy.ml instance) let us know.

I asked them to send a captcha to a chat group, then we can help decrypting the captcha. I don’t think this is good in long run.
