I’m thinking of rebooting my YouTube channel.

However, I don’t know if I should have a Patreon or IndieGoGo or what.

I’m pretty strapped for cash and I’m only now getting a job after some time (a pretty good one, it seems, too).

But all the same: I’m pretty much poor.

Should I leave a place where people can make donations to me? I’m trying to be financially secure.

Not that I wouldn’t do the video channel for other reasons, but I feel that I don’t have much of a choice.

Is it okay?

Is it “okay” in what sense? Is it a legitimate way of working? Why not?

I don’t think going with Patreon beforehand is necessary. Experiment first, see if you’re okay doing it, how periodically can you make videos, etc. Then, if you can make content consistently, you can make a Patreon if your videos are able to reach a wider audience some time.

I say that because setting up those platforms take up time in itself, so if you’re not sure if that’s what your thing, setting up platforms beforehand sounds like work waiting to be wasted

I’m trying to augment my source of income, aside from the job that I have.

But I don’t just want to do it for the money; that’s secondary. But at the same time, I think that I should do it so I can support myself eventually.

Of course it’s okay! Even encouraged. Doing what you love is the best possible aspiration. Also stream on Twitch too.

          Gotcha.

Yeah, I think that you have to make money somehow in a capitalist economy.
