Good to see venture capital getting burned in this space. Better to focus on sustainable growth.

    It’s mostly because they require a lot of electricity for lights, right? Because plants outside use the sun and inside there is no sun.

      Actually from the ongoing energy consumption perspective it is more efficient to build solar-panels and feed the electricity into highly efficient LED lights for these plants, but the picture is less clear when considering the entire life-cycle costs of these very capital intensive vertical farms.
