    What does being censured actually mean. Is it just saying “we don’t like you”? Does she get forced off of committees or whatever?

      Members of Congress who have been censured are required to give up any committee chairs they hold. Like a reprimand, a censure does not remove a member from their office so they retain their title, stature, and power to vote. There are also no legal consequences that come with a reprimand or censure.

        The article doesn’t mention it; did she even chair any committees? Everyone in leadership already hated her so I kind of doubt it.

          It’s more like a warning to other progressives out there: if you don’t toe the party line, we will do things to you.

          The goal is to make the other good intentioned people shut up and self-censor in the face of evil.

          This is also why liberalism will inevitably end up in fascism, btw.
