As far as I understood, Lemmygrad, where my account is, is specifically for leftist content, while lemmy.ml is for generic discussions. I’m interested in creating a community about Blender (the software), which would fit better on lemmy.ml.

As a Lemmygrad account, can I create a community on lemmy.ml? (I can’t find a button that would let me do this.) Or did I misunderstand the purpose of different instances and should just create that community on Lemmygrad?

    No, you’d have to ask another user to create the community for you, and give you mod rights. Or make an account on the other instance to create the community. You could open an issue about this, but we already have plenty of things to work on :p

      Alright, I’ve made an account on lemmy.ml for this purpose. (Though the !blender@lemmy.ml community already exists, I should’ve looked more carefully…)

      If I still open an issue for this, should that go on lemmy or on lemmy-ui?

        Lemmy, thats where federation is implemented.
