Seems like America doesn’t even need any help from China. Incidentally, US produced a study analyzing how regimes collapse that predicts their own collapse. Clear signs of systemic breakdown started showing around 2016 when Trump managed to effectively do a coup within the Republican party pushing out any moderate elements. Rising inequality and deteriorating material conditions propelled MAGA and its affiliate movements that now account for around 30% of the population.

There’s a deep partisan rift between Republicans and Democrats at this point. Both sides live in their own fantasy bubbles and blame the other side for the problems in the country. I think that’s a good recipe for sectarian violence going forward. Capitol hill riot was an early example of that. I expect we’ll see more of that going forward, and at some point it could easily escalate into sectarian fighting across the country.

And of course there’s also the problem of extreme weather due to climate change. High temperatures are already causing massive wild fires, affecting food production, and straining the infrastructure across the country. I think that extreme weather events are likely to play a major role in accelerating the collapse.

All China has to do is just sit back and enjoy the show.
