    The video of the train on the awful tracks was actually sped up 8x. Also those tracks have since been repaired as the original vid was ~5 years old.

      That’s even worse though, it means the train moved with only 1/8th speed than the already very slow motion on video.

      We’re talking about a picture of tracks that are in an atrocious state of disrepair. And I guarantee you that there are plenty of tracks all over the US that look exactly like this today.

        Well when theres tens of thousands of miles of track in the usa, so that isn’t surprising. Theres always going to be shit tracks like this somewhere, its the nature of the earth to move around The important thing is to make sure theres no hazardous materials going down them.

          I think the bigger picture is that infrastructure needs proper maintenance, and that’s certainly not the case in US https://infrastructurereportcard.org/

          You’re right though, that the bare minimum is not to cut corners while shipping hazardous materials.
