I’ve downloaded the cores, but when I choose my folder it simply doesn’t read my roms, I’ve tried the Steam version, the .deb version, multiple Linux flavours, it just doesn’t want to work. It looks like a really nice piece of software but it refuses to let me play.

    What format are your ROMs in? If they’re compressed you may have to enable ‘scan inside compressed files’ in the content import options. Also try doing a manual scan of ROMs of different systems, specifying the core association before scan (its in the manual scan options).

    Retroarch is a removed sometimes but once you get it configured properly and all yourROMss imported, its pretty much cake.

    Also remember, the steam version keeps its configs in your steamapps folder and not your $xdg_config_home like the native version. I actually prefer the retroarch flatpak as it comes with all available cores bundled.
