• Listen, a throne made out of rusty swords is gonna be impractical as fuck and not even comfortable to sit on. You’d have to get stitches if you fall down and grab the corner of the throne to steady yourself. You’ll have to be very careful every time you get up not to grab a pointy edge. It doesn’t even sound cool, it’s just rusty swords. My grandpa can sharpen them for you and actually make them useful. Swords are meant to cut things, not be sat on. Do you see anyone else with chairs made of swords? Exactly. What’s next, table made of swords? Bed made of swords? Why stop there, why not be completely impractical and make our houses out of swords! Let’s use all the iron we have available and spend hours turning it into the shape of a sword just to use it as the stupidest piece of furniture ever conceived! Just get the normal wooden throne package, we’ll even throw in some cushions so you can actually sit on it.

That was actually the point which was said straight up by Aegon I when he made it.

      New copy pasta? 😮

      • Emojis on windows 11 look so silly and childish I hate everything about this OS, fuck you microsoft for lying to me about your shitty “operating system”.

But yes make anything you want from me into a copypasta 😉

Haha its literally the “not everyone has an iPhone meme”

          • It’s the most broken OS I have ever had the displeasure of installing. Very telling that when they entice you to switch to 11 the first thing they say is you get a whole new look. That’s the only thing it has going for it (and even then it’s buggy).

Seriously making me consider switching to Mint right away and delete this POS, but I have a couple programs that can only run on Windows.

Glad to know this whole look thing, another reason to not “upgrade” to W11. I’m seriously considering Mint too, maybe when improvements to proton and wine will happen.

              • Lol you’re the poor victim of my windows 11 rants tonight, but I’ve had it for I think 48 hours and in that span of time I experienced:

                • having to reinstall my audio driver because the effects didn’t work (aforementioned EQ and loudness equalisation)
                • notification centre not responding until I restarted the PC. Just wouldn’t let me click to open it.
                • taskbar completely freezing for a few minutes.
                • system sounds coming out of mute or 0 volume despite me putting both. I ended up disabling them entirely through the control panel.
                • not finding really simple stuff that used to be in the weird settings panels that existed alongside the control panel from windows xp. Now it’s even worse.
                • sound management being super weird to fiddle with. It takes on a more mobile appearance despite being on PC. Lowering the volume of a single, specific app is increasingly complex.
                • discord not linking my bluetooth headset which worked perfectly fine on windows 10. Outright made firefox glitch out. Wouldn’t launch my steam games. All sorts of weird stuff just from turning it on and trying to use it in discord.
                • Completely deleting part of my desktop icons because of their shitty useless virtual desktop “feature”.
                • speaking of desktop, I was greeted with completely messed up icons. I mean my desktop config was completely broken and I had to manually rearrange it.
                • speaking of the desktop, there’s a super weird margin at the bottom before the taskbar. Like weirdly tall. Can’t seem to get rid of it.
                • having to run third-party software I found on github to debloat the shitty apps they installed like kindle or amazon. Obviously they don’t tell you about those when you “upgrade”.
                • having to hunt down privacy settings to tell it I don’t want ads in my fucking start menu, despite having done that on windows 10 already.
                • you still can’t remove edge as a default browser for some stuff.

And that’s just what I remember.

I really needed to get this out. I cannot stress enough how bad windows 11 still is. It’s been out for a while and I didn’t get it right away (I knew I was gonna have to if I was gonna stay on windows eventually) because launches are always bad and riddled with bugs. But this thing’s been out for almost a year and I figured it must have been fixed by now. No, it has not.

Hundreds of thousands if not millions of unpaid bets testers, I absolutely love the modern capitalist software industry 😍😍

              • Yeah and I’ve had to fiddle with Mint. Like for example installing audio packages so that I could get an equaliser and loudness equalisation (which for some reason is not a default on computer? If you have it disabled, that’s the reason spotify is super loud and youtube is super quiet on your computer). But I feel at least with linux you can do anything you want, you just have to find a way. With windows it’s more and more restrained with each update. Also linux doesn’t spy on you.

Mint was super easy to pick up and also their virtual desktops work. Windows 11 introduced them but there’s literally no use for it, all it does is switch between open apps and windows. If you delete something from the desktop in one, it deletes the shortcut on the other too. Literally no point. I liked the gestures too, if you put your cursor in a corner you can make it do whatever you want.

  • Depend what part. The king election was ridiculous but Daenerys going khornate was hinted way earlier. Actually everyone who witnessed beheading of Eddard Stark should be prepared for that too.

    • That’s what I was always saying, as soon as I saw Eddard die, I knew it was over for the whole city, since also people cheered on it to happen and came to see execution personally. Idk why was everyone so shocked about it.

Well everyone in and out universe was bootlicking Dany so hard the reason for sudden change had to be huge. Actually, if you look at fandom, people think burning a city or two was just acceptable for monarch change to the one they like. Unlike for example, burning two feudal lords by Aerys, that was a big no-no.

What i meant was that Targaryen coin was pure Chekhov gun.

Yes, I get killing slaveowners and whatnot but the entire city? I wanted it to happen to all the Lannisters (except Tyrion of course) so bad, and people who helped them in war crimes, but all of the people in city, wtf? I didn’t care at that point, they already screwed everything since 1st episode of season 8, but hey, at least we got big dragon destroying everything action.

This is actually not that weird, if you paid attention to the books. What was the thing that Dany always did when seriously threatened? First the reason which almost never worked, and then violence. And not only did it worked, but for that violence was always loved because so it happens who she killed before was some of the worst people in the world, seriously Lannisters looked like saints compared to the ghiscari slaveowners, especially in the 5th book they are shown for how inhuman filth they are. She was also pumped with completely false pro-targaryen propaganda since birth, but when she’s back she was not exactly welcomed by the people of the city who were completely tired and starved by war, and she literally came as yet another conqueror with an foreign army full of scary human automata not to mention Dothraki who had fully deserved reputation of worst human calamity in the world and fucking dragons (and it was not even the first time Targaryen ruler set up the burining of that city).

Also she was young girl whose life was one big string of traumatic ups and downs so no wonder that she snapped at the yet another “prophecied” mention of betrayal (read how she was completely freaking out about that prophecy in the book) and cruel and undeserved death of her best friend. Nobody accuse her she did burned the city with premeditation, but she did and even books are slowly build to that snap point (although it might look different in the book, if it ever get finished).

8 season was bad, especially the battle for winterfell, and the fate of Starks, but some things like the fate of Targaryens and Lannisters were done very good.

My biggest disappointment with entire book was that at first it was lovely tale of intrigue, politics, incest and all possible manners of backstabbing, but the moment they introduced magic everything started to sour a little, and when the prophecy hit even book went down the drain to completely hackneyed dark fantasy.
