I didn’t know that the American Christian movie industry had the resources, time or know-how to make a knockoff of Finding Nemo. I guess it makes sense considering it’s the religion of choice of the settler population there and is used as a cudgel to enforce “American values” or whatever.
That’s not the only one either, there’s a sequel
Looks like a shitpost hahahaha
Rule 34, Section ✝: If it exists, there’s a Christian version of it.
What about communism?
GenZedong on reddit was full of so called “religious marxists” (observably doing bad job at at least one of those things)
Also, straight from Manifesto:
Nothing is easier than to give Christian asceticism a Socialist tinge. Has not Christianity declaimed against private property, against marriage, against the State? Has it not preached in the place of these, charity and poverty, celibacy and mortification of the flesh, monastic life and Mother Church? Christian Socialism is but the holy water with which the priest consecrates the heart-burnings of the aristocrat.
Finally, first christians did lived in the primitive communism of sorts.
Finally, first christians did lived in the primitive communism of sorts.
Source?
Foundations of Christianity by Kautsky for example. It wasn’t even an exclusive christian thing, christians took that from essenes for example, and many other isolated religious sects over the world were similar. Keyword here is “primitive” communism.
I saw that text and it looked kinda interesting, and then I read the author, kautsky🤮🤮🤮, the famous succc dem
Don’t make mistake, Kautsky was pillar of german marxism until 1914. He did have serious achievements earlier.
Acts 4:32-35 reads, “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. And Gods grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.” Also, early followers would leave their lives behind and become professional revolutionaries of sorts, preaching liberation from the Roman imperialists.
Cool essay by Roland Boer on religious communism: https://www.culturematters.org.uk/index.php/culture/religion/item/2959-roland-boer
“Religion do not need to be reactionary!”, duh it only so happens to be in 95% of cases. Also of course that religion can be revolutionary in slavery society (but it also overwhelmingly wasn’t), but the entire system since then changed at least twice or even thrice in some cases. It even can be revolutionary in feudalism (but it also overwhelmingly wasn’t) or capitalism (but it also overwhelmingly wasn’t and isn’t). In socialism though, based on dialectical materialism, religion will always be reactionary, but the question is when it will be tolerable and when it will be ticking bomb just wanting to turn its supporters to footsoldiers of CIA like it was in Poland and entire eastern Europe.
What i meant to say, i will always be suspicious of someone equating religion with marxism on the same level because such people either don’t understand something crucial or are ok with having such conflict in their brains, which means potential problem when it will be the time to choose. They might choose correctly though, but more often than not they don’t. Especially in the dire times of reaction like the current ones. That’s why afaik all successfull communist parties require atheism from their members.
Also i want to highlight the point that author of the article just skims over at the beginning, that religion was often the starting point for communists but they all had their moment of choice. Including some people like mentioned Lunacharsky (though he did suspicious shit all the time and wasn’t purged mostly because he was trustworthy comrade despite his ideas). I think better example was Bonch-Bruyevich.
Religious communism has existed even longer than Marxism. I’m no Christian, but most people that are religious aren’t going to suddenly become atheists, so we might as well appeal to people’s religious egalitarian beliefs.
If religious fundamentalists were consistent they’d oppose capitalism.
“We interpret the Bible literally, but when Jesus said it’s harder for a rich man to go to heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle it was metaphorical”
now that’s a nasty case of CD.
basado
Liberation Theology is incredible, Rev. Gustavo Gutiérrez is a Dominican Priest who wrote the book on it, he’s incredible to listen to if you enjoy religion and leftist thought.
They absolutely do have the resources but generally seeing christians spend money on something that isn’t land, buildings or luxuries for the priests is pretty unusual.
Also that would put all the fish symbolism in bible pretty weird if Jesus was a fish.
Just imagine, Jesus as a Fish.
Last pic is traditional polish (and northen european in general) “rolmops” it’s very tasty and should be communion.
Is that like sushi?
And inversed.
Jesus died for our hunger.
I recall back when I was in Catholic School that early Christians would use symbols of fish to identify each other, so it could work
Interesting, is there a reason why they chose fish specifically?
I think it was because the word for fish in their area at the time was used as an acronym for something to do with Jesus.
Dang, that would be pretty big if true.
I don’t know if my explanation is the right one, but there is a Wikipedia article on it.
Jesus had a miracle with fish. The one where he feed thousands with 2 fishes
First two apostles were fishers, and Jesus said that from now on they will become “fishers of men”, so fish is a symbol for christian beliver, with no bad connotations of other symbol, sheep.
Catholics already eat his body and drink his blood, so…
When finding memo is too “woke” for you💀💀
Transgender dad 😳 (ignore the very last bit)
clown fish incest 💀
First movie: finding Nemo Second movie: finding Dory Third movie: finding Marlin (apparently marlingbis a gender neutral name)
Just imagine, in the third movie Marlin comes out as a trans woman
near the end.She will come out near the very end so Disney can cut off the scene easily in transphobic countries.
why even bother making the scene at that point,,,,,,
Queerbait for money
Holy fucking trinity.
Ayo-
They probably didn’t think it was too woke. Just popular among children (and adults too) so they packaged shitty settler Biblical propaganda in its style.
ok where did i put the dang memo my boss gave me
sorry I didnt get the nemo
memo
Did you mean “Nemo”?
Cheap knock off of
Me and my gf actually skipped around and watched about 20m of this a few weeks ago. It was truly horrifying. Christofascism unfiltered.
You can tell the main voice actor guy (he plays 3 characters, including an incredibly outdated, cringey, lazy, terrible Japanese racist caricature as “Mr. Sushi”) is a major pedo, hateful man who genuinely hates kids. The entire film is full of kids acting very unchildlike: extremely chipper and self-flagellating and fawningly obedient, meanwhile getting severe contempt for the mildest of crimes (e.g. playing when they were supposed to be studying) using the most subtly demeaning and draconian language with an entire nauseating sugar bowl capsized over it.
The production value is also so laughably bad that it is almost insulting. They use the same single gif in the exact same pose for every character, they have 1 talking gif that they don’t even care about matching the words to, they take beautiful settings like coral reefs and somehow make them dull and lifeless in an uncanny and honestly hellish way. It is hellishly uncomfortable.
We definitely had a nice conversation piece and a good laugh out of it, but it was disturbing knowing that in some Baptist church somewhere nearby there might be a group of particularly susceptible young children being forced to watch this during Sunday school. It was so painfully un-entertaining in the eyes of a child that I can only imagine them either hating it and getting punished, or crimestopping themselves and brainwashing themselves into thinking they like it.
This is truly an abomination, a gem of pure evil, a case study into the fascist mind. I recommend skipping around for 20 minutes for comrades who like media analysis.
Check out Pureflix, it’s Netflix but for Christian movies and shows.
No. It’s awful
Pure pleasure
Nahm it’s hell.
It’s from Wownow entertainment. Ask Saberspark why I hate them.
lmao it’s rated 1.1 stars
Too high
A hispanic father looking for his son Jesus?
Here’s the first movie and here’s the sequel. Warning: they’re boring
A YouTube link was detected in your comment. Here are links to the same video on Invidious, which is a YouTube frontend that protects your privacy:
the Invidious bot can only handle one video per comment 💀
And the link says it’s not available in my country ):
What country is the invidious site located anyway?
there are numerous instances of Invidious (like Lemmy, except AFAIK they don’t interact with each other) - see https://invidio.us
although I think it might be caused by YouTube’s geo-restrictions rather than either of the linked instances
If you can find an invidious instance that does work, please tell me, I’ll add it to the bot.
you could always link to https://invidio.us so people are aware that there’s an instance list
I clicked the “Switch Invidious Instance” button over and over until I landed on one that works 👍
I’ve now added that instance to the bot, thanks.
AmeriKKKa.
There are many. The ones I link to are in the Netherlands and Chile, so no, not America for sure.
Yes, I’d have to increase the complexity of it a lot and use a templating language to support something like that. At the moment, I’m working on another project, but I’ll probably do it once I finish version 0.0.6 of that project.
👏👏👏👏👏
