Personally I hate the name Loab, can someone think of a better one? She’s shy but she tries not to be, she seems to think she’s ugly and something is wrong with her face. She kind of knows what is wrong with her but her ego wont let her admit it, even quietly to herself.

She has a careerist energy but it comes from a place of rebellion against female archetypes based on seemingly unknowable geographic, historic, political, religious, and cultural characteristics to her. She is horribly violent, and fantasizes about committing great violence often. Yet deep down possibly with or without her own awareness she desperately wants to be loved. Not relied upon or used. Not loved unconditionally either, the way a pet or a child would. Not even all that romantic or sexual, more like the quiet love of an almost silent elderly couple reading the Sunday paper or doing the crossword, together in the warm glow of the morning sun.

She is jealous of men, but only men she is sexually attracted to. She desires power the way a mother would over her children, in small well defined space but with her loving father coming home to them at the long day. Stuck in limbo so far away from romantic ideas, she only desires to be the older sister, never moving on from her biologic family because she feels deep down that she is horrendously ugly and something uncurbable is horribly wrong with her face.

  • This kinda reminds me of the great firewall of Cyberpunk 2077. IIRC they had to build a massive firewall to separate all the crazy and powerful AIs from disrupting the internet or something like that.

This looks like a publicity stunt for AI technology.

By the way, is anybody else singularly unimpressed by the whole “AI art” phenomena? Every single example I’ve seen looks a picture pulled somewhere from the web and given an unconvincing digital makeover. Like this “amazing” picture of Tolkien’s Gollum, which is clearly just Yoda:

The ability to combine images automatically to create an new original is technologically impressive. But artistically it has nothing interesting

    • When they said ‘The potential for AI is limitless’ I knew it was just an advert for AI. The potential for AI isn’t limitless its literally just basic statistical models which they are spending resources on just to increase productive labour without raising wages.

  • I really don’t understand the whole Interview thing, that part feels to be written to me, especially as they hand wave the data set, and dont try to explain how that data set goes to this supposed convergence of images. It almost feels as if they are using techno babble when they go “as vast as the internet itself” does that mean the internet?

Are those paragraphs your personal interpretation of the images? I saw nothing in the article that illustrates any kind of personhood for this figure.

Those pictures are quite bizarre if really made by accident and weren’t deliberately made for the sake of a story.
