Quit nicotine two weeks ago, vaping, cigs, patches, everything, done with it. I’m going nuts if I’m being honest. It was fine the first week, which I guess was weird, but the this last week has been a nightmare, everything I do is difficult and annoying I’m itchy all over, can’t focus on anything, I have cried like seven times since yesterday over the dumbest things. I dropped my chopsticks on the ground, and cried as I was cleaning them because they were dirty I guess?

Nicotine makes my anxiety way worse and I have known for years that I need to stop, but it helped me get off hard drugs so I was partial to it and always made excuses. Finally decided to do it with my partners support. It’s been hard, but I’m gonna do it.

    It’s tough. That’s all I can say. I don’t know anything about seeing it through. I hope you succeed.

    I have found grounding meditations (like the body scan) helpful when I’m anxious and/or experiencing strong tremors. It’s not permanent relief but if I’m “losing your mind” in can make me feel more sane.

    i believe in you, i myself quit drinking alcohol and been struggling too. my withdrawal hasnt been chemical but mental, feeling a lot of alienation bc i realized my friends were just drinking buddies.

    How many cigs were you smoking a day? I smoked for ten years around a package per day and quit smoking this year, although it wasn’t so hard for me for some reason, what I did was I got covid so I basically wasnt able to breathe much so I forced myself to quit for that week, and then I kept not smoking. I agree hard drugs really make you to smoke, I even smoke some when im super high but i dont get on it again since now I smoke and instantly feel my lung capacity devastated.

        The amount, you mean? Well, I think it creates a bigger pharmacological dependency although most probably the psychological effect is even harder. If you smoke around two packages a day you basically end up having smoke in your lungs every time you’re awake. I’ve known people who wake up in the middle of the night just to smoke, their brains tell them Smoke, Smoke, while showering, all the time. It gets harder to quit at those levels.

          sounds risky even tho the seeds are easy to get on ebay. i’m sure there are studies proving it can have useful effects but if it’s too dangerous prob not worth it

  • I have a friend who caught three air bubbles in his lungs at different times. Possibly caused by smoking.

    Look up how they treat that in hospitals anytime you want a cigarette.

    If you opt for the surgery also, it makes treating lung cancers more difficult down the line.

    The third time stopped him from smoking completely. He just quit right there and then.

    Whelp… Gonna be honest with you. Youre knee deep in the suffering now.

    If you go back; you will revisit this pain sometime later. And again. And again…

    You started the misery. Time to see it through. Do you REALLY want to do this more than once?

    When I quit smoking I used patches. The thing I thought was helpful was that my daily dose was fixed, and went down a set amount each week or two. That way, I couldn’t add nicotine whenever I felt like, like I could have with gum.

    This is a long and arduous fight, but I believe you are stronger! You have already begun the journey, which is something that very few have done. I have faith that you will succeed, even if you fail 1, 10, 100 times, you never have to stop fighting.

    I used them to do cope with kicking off of hard drugs. Smoked a pack a day and sometimes two pack when I went out to party. At age 22 I had difficulties with walking up a stairs due to bad stamina.

    But I quit and haven’t smoked in years now. The beginning was very hard. Some drugs were easier to quit really. But I kept thinking about all the horrible things that could happen, and my grandma died of lung cancer in the process as well. It sucks for now, but things get better quickly, I promise. And when you quit smoking you get a lot of it in return. It’s good for your skin and teeth, it’s really good for your overall health and if you quit long enough you’ll never want to touch a cig again.
