The F-35’s total “life cycle” cost is estimated at $1.727 trillion in current dollars. Imagine spending that much money on a useless toy that doesn’t even work while people are literally starving.

Looking it up, they say to end world hunger it’d cost ~$30B / year. So scrapping that program alone could’ve solved world hunger for 58 years.
