The future of electric cars isn’t Tesla. It’s golf carts.

Millions of people in China are buying off-brand electric cars, which are cheap, tiny, barely regulated, and extremely useful.

I love everything about these except that there’s no safety testing, which seems like should be necessary somewhere in between that for a bicycle and that for a car. They’re so cute! They don’t contribute to urban air pollution! They’re so much more efficient than larger vehicles!

I saw some electric scooters with fully enclosed “cabins” at my university campus (Canada). You could rent them out to get around as it’s a big campus with some distance between buildings. Unfortunately, I think they’re gone now, but they seem like a really good idea.

They should just bring back the “flying pigeon” bicycle culture if the cars are that small.

sometimes you just don’t want to get rained on, you know?

I’ve been seeing reviews and such about cheap electric vehicles you can buy on Alibaba. I would love to spend $1k -$2k on a something like that, but the roads outside my house have speed limits that around 2x-3x their top speeds :(
